As the number of available search characteristics grow, the page will take longer and longer to down load. Use the [Characteristic type] drop down select box to limit the characteristics displayed. Click on [Find] to refresh the display.

This is a complete list of the characteristics currently linked to plants on this site. To limit the search to "Red flowers", click on "Flower COLOUR:Red", then click on the "[>>]" button. This will move the characteristic across to the "Search Characteristics" window. Click on the [Find] button, and the names of all plants with red flowers, or flowers that are partly red, will be displayed.

To display plants with flowers that are Red and Yellow, click on "Flower COLOUR:Red", followed by the "[>>]" button, then click on "Flower COLOUR: Yellow", followed by the "[>>]" button. Click on [Find] to show the results.

Note that flowers that are both Red and Yellow will have a ranking of 100%, while flowers that are either red, or yellow will only have rankings of 50%.

Use the "[<<]" button to remove Characteristics from the selection criteria.

Put a tick in the FGS select box to display the available lists of Family, Genus and Species. Note that ALL of the available families, genuses and species are downloaded, so the page takes a long time to download with this option ticked. Click on [Find] to refresh the display.

This is the number of result lines that will be displayed per page. Put a 0 (zero) in this field to display ALL results on one page. Click on [Find] to refresh the display.

This is the help page, and is displayed when you first enter this screen. If you want to read it again, tick the "Show help" check box, then the "[Find]" button to refresh. This page will be displayed below the results of the search. Uncheck the "Show help" box once you are familiar with the page operation.

Put a tick in this field to show pictures of the plants, if pictures are available. If a picture is available, and this box is not ticked, the word [Picture] will be displayed. Clicking on either the picture, or the word will take you to the picture area on this site. Click on [Find] to refresh the display.
